Matekai Lawrence Karka, BSc, MSc

Matekai Lawrence Karka is a writer, author and communications professional with expertise in strategic crisis communication, media management and public relations.

He has held roles including Special Assistant to the Pioneer President of the ECOWAS Court of Justice, Special Adviser on media and publicity to Senator Grace Bent CON, Senior Legislative Aide on online media to the President of the 7th Senate, and Special Adviser on Media to the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development.

He represented Nigeria at the 2013 UN General Assembly as special adviser on women’s affairs and the Child Rights Act. He has also served as Head of Social Media Africa and as a member of the Advisory Board of the London School of African Entrepreneurship and Leadership Studies.

He holds a BSc, MSc and a professional diploma in public relations from the National Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Lagos, and currently contributes to the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate.
